Péter Szijjártó's luxury jet travel costs revealed

The Hungarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has released cost details regarding a three-day international trip taken by Péter Szijjártó in the summer of 2024. The delegation utilized a Gulfstream G-V luxury jet, with total flight rental costs amounting to 257 million HUF.

The itinerary included travel from Budapest to Santiago, Chile, then to New York, and finally to Istanbul. The Budapest-Santiago-New York leg cost approximately 235.3 million HUF, while the New York-Istanbul segment cost approximately 21.7 million HUF. In Chile, the delegation discussed economic and trade cooperation and met with a local archbishop. In New York, the group attended a United Nations Security Council meeting. In Istanbul, discussions were held with Rosatom leadership regarding the Paks II nuclear project.

In addition to flight costs, the delegation incurred approximately 5 million HUF in accommodation expenses. The highest single lodging expense was recorded at the Sheraton Santiago Hotel in Chile, costing over 2.5 million HUF for one night. Other stays included the Hilton Garden Inn in New York and the Istanbul Bomonti Hotel.
