PTI finalizes October 4 long march to Islamabad

The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party has finalized plans for a long march toward Islamabad, scheduled for October 4. This follows a postponement from the original September 27 date. PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja stated the delay was intended to allow the government more time to reconsider its decisions, while simultaneously rejecting reports of failed backchannel negotiations.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information Shafi Jan predicted that over 2 million people would participate in the mobilization. He warned that any attempt to impose governor’s rule in the province would be met with significant public resistance.

PTI leadership has issued instructions to party members and parliamentary officials to ensure the march remains peaceful. The planned route involves a convoy departing from Peshawar, with scheduled stops in Nowshera and Swabi. The party has emphasized that participants should not carry weapons or tools for agitation, and those attempting to cause disorder will be handed over to the police.
