PTI protesters demand medical access and court hearings for Imran Khan

Activists from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party staged a protest outside the Supreme Court of Pakistan in Islamabad to demand better medical care for former Prime Minister Imran Khan and faster processing of his legal cases. The demonstration, which included lawyers and was attended by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, focused on concerns regarding Khan’s health and his right to meet with family and personal physicians.

Chief Minister Sohail Afridi emphasized that the party is not politicizing Khan’s health, noting that the former leader has not used his medical condition to seek legal relief. Afridi called for Khan’s treatment to be supervised by his own doctors and expressed concern over his access to justice.

The protest was called off after PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja met with the Supreme Court Registrar. The Registrar reportedly assured party leaders that the pending cases would be scheduled for hearing next week and that a cause list would be issued within two days.
