Public first aid and AED training initiatives launched in Poland
Local initiatives in Poland are focusing on enhancing public emergency response skills through first aid and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training.
In Elbląg, a new educational campaign titled ‘In Elbląg, courage begins with a reaction’ has launched. The initiative includes practical training sessions led by firefighters from the Municipal Headquarters of the State Fire Service. These sessions, held at the Zygmunt August Boulevard, aim to provide residents with hands-on experience using AEDs to overcome the fear of providing incorrect assistance. The city has also expanded its network of AED devices, which can be located via an interactive map in the ‘wElblągu’ mobile application.
Similarly, in Dominowo, the Volunteer Fire Department from Prawiedniki is organizing demonstrations during local harvest festival celebrations. These sessions include presentations of rescue equipment and workshops designed to teach effective first aid techniques and crisis management in controlled environments.
