Various Greek municipalities and organizations are launching public health initiatives throughout September.

The Municipality of Zacharos is continuing its social care program, conducting community visits to provide information and free health screenings, including blood sugar, blood pressure, and oxygen level measurements, specifically targeting elderly residents and remote areas.

In Ai Stratis, a mobile medical unit—funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and operated by the ‘Renaissance & Progress’ NGO—will provide free access to 12 medical specialties on September 26 and 27. Services include cardiology, gynecology, ophthalmology, and various diagnostic tests such as 3D mammography and bone density measurements.

The Municipality of Athens is also expanding its preventative services. On September 15, the municipality will relaunch its Smoking Cessation Clinic at the 5th Multipurpose Municipal Clinic. The program, supervised by Professor Paraskevi Katsaounou, offers personalized counseling and pharmaceutical monitoring in small groups.
