Public health initiatives launched in Iași and Slatina

Various public health initiatives are being launched across Romania to promote wellness and preventive care.

In Iași County, the “Let’s Grow Healthy Generations” project has been introduced in partnership with the Iași County School Inspectorate. The program will be implemented in 78 state and private educational institutions, covering both urban and rural areas. Spanning the 2026–2027 school year, the initiative aims to instill healthy habits in students from kindergarten through 12th grade. The curriculum focuses on six pillars: nutrition, sleep, physical activity, stress management, healthy relationships, and addiction prevention. The project was launched at Iași National College with participation from NutriBalance Nature Association and local educational officials.

In Slatina, the “Slatina for your health” project is providing free community health services. Organized by the Slatina General Directorate of Social Assistance with support from the Slatina City Hall, the initiative involves medical professionals, pharmacists, and volunteers. Residents can access free health evaluations, including blood pressure, pulse, and oxygen saturation measurements, as well as BMI assessments and diabetes risk scoring. The campaign also provides information on vaccination and healthy lifestyle choices through various locations in the municipality.
