Public health services expand through mobile units and vaccination modules

Public health initiatives are expanding access to medical services in Tucumán, Argentina, and Tampico, Mexico.

In Tucumán, the Ministry of Public Health’s Mobile Hospital completed a week of operations in Barrio Echeverría. The initiative served approximately 600 patients, providing over 1,400 medical services. Due to high demand, the mobile unit will remain at the Echeverría Plaza next week. Services include clinical consultations, rapid tests for sexually transmitted infections, and laboratory studies such as HIV, syphilis, hepatitis B and C, diabetes, and hypertension screenings. Patients can access appointments spontaneously by presenting their ID.

In Tampico, Mexico, the Health District for Wellbeing number 2 has established a vaccination module in the Historic Center. The station aims to increase immunization coverage for children, adults, and pregnant women. Available vaccines include the basic childhood schedule (excluding varicella), measles, rubella, tetanus, diphtheria, and pneumococcal vaccines. Pregnant women can access the Tdap vaccine, and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) vaccines are also available.
