Public transport modernization projects announced in Berlin and Brașov
Berlin's public transport operator, Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG), has selected IVU Traffic Technologies to digitalize its new electric bus depots. The implementation will take place at two new facilities currently under construction in Marienfelde and Treptow-Köpenick. The IVU.suite Depot Management platform will coordinate operational processes, automate vehicle planning, and integrate electric bus charging systems and energy consumption management.
In Brașov, Romania, a consortium led by Altimate, including Prodata Mobility and Wi-Novation, has secured a contract worth approximately 26.29 million lei (including VAT) to modernize the RATBV public transport management system. The project aims to expand services to the Brașov metropolitan area, including Săcele, Râșnov, Vama Buzăului, and Teliu.
The modernization includes equipping 82 stations with external validators, passenger information panels, and ticket vending machines. Additionally, 198 buses will receive new onboard computers, and 70 metropolitan-specific vehicles will be fitted with new validators and information panels. The project, funded through the PNRR, is expected to be completed within six months.
