Public works departments advance road projects in Panama and Chile
Public works departments in Panama and Chile are advancing separate road infrastructure projects to improve transit and safety.
In Panama, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) has completed over 45% of a new route designed to relieve congestion on the Inter-American Highway. The project spans from El Coquito to the outskirts of David, providing an alternative for travelers heading toward Panama City or the Costa Rican border. Regional director Marcos Di Bilio stated the goal is to alleviate traffic in the city of David and improve access to the commercial center.
In Chile, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) O’Higgins is conducting nighttime asphalt replacement on Route 95 Travesía in Rancagua. The work, located between kilometers 82.5 and 86.1, was scheduled to run through October 21, though weather conditions caused a temporary delay. The project, managed by Constructora Flesan S. A., involves alternating traffic and temporary lane closures to enhance road safety and connectivity in the Cachapoal Province.
