Puebla expands road rehabilitation projects, improving mobility for over 58,000 residents

The state government of Puebla announced the continuation of road‑rehabilitation works aimed at easing traffic and enhancing safety for local communities. In the Romero Vargas‑Diagonal Central corridor, a 1.1‑km stretch is being reconstructed with a 41 % completion rate, benefitting roughly 48,677 inhabitants across 13 neighborhoods. The project includes a full replacement of the deteriorated base, new hydraulic layers, sidewalks and drainage, and is part of a broader plan for 25 priority streets this year.

Separately, the municipal administration in Puebla City launched the restoration of Guadalupe Victoria street in the Santa María Xonacatepec auxiliary council. The work, covering 874 metres of road and 7,188 square metres of pavement area, is expected to serve more than 10,900 residents. It incorporates universal‑access features such as tactile paving for the visually impaired, upgraded drainage, ramps, and new lighting, under the #CallesAl100 initiative that seeks comprehensive, inclusive urban mobility.

Both efforts are presented as milestones in the state’s commitment to modern, safe infrastructure, with coordinated funding and resources from local and federal authorities.
