Overview
In early June, Cuautlancingo mayor Omar Muñoz inaugurated a 2,251 m² cobblestone paving project on Tierra y Libertad street in the San Lorenzo Almecatla auxiliary council, funded with 3.73 million pesos from municipal and state resources under the Por Amor a Puebla 2026 program. The same day, Quecholac mayor Guadalupe Martínez Gerardo launched a similar effort in San Simón de Bravo, installing 1,498 m² of high‑resistance cobblestones. On 19 June, Muñoz delivered a further pavement upgrade in Cuautlancingo’s Privada San Miguel neighborhood (≈1,000 m²), adding lighting and curb repainting as part of the state’s Obra Comunitaria programme backed by Governor Alejandro Armenta. Mayor Pepe Chedraui opened the second phase of the municipal #CallesAl100 scheme on 21 June, repaving a 387‑m stretch of Artículo 9 in Ampliación Constitución Mexicana with sub‑grade work, hydraulic base, tactile sidewalks, ramps, signage and lighting for more than 48,400 residents. On 2 July, Chedraui inspected paving of Hermanos Serdán–Benjamín Gil street (154 m, ≈2,900 residents) as the state announced a 412‑km road‑rehabilitation plan covering 31 municipalities and nearly three million people. A youth anti‑corruption short‑film contest was launched on 6 July, while the #CallesAl100 programme expanded using the “Tren Capitalino de Pavimentación” in San Jerónimo Caleras and Ignacio Zaragoza wards, affecting over 38,000 residents with new asphalt, lighting, sidewalks, tactile guides and bike lanes. Quecholac installed a shade‑net at a kindergarten. State updates on 8 July reported 41 % completion of the 1.1‑km Romero Vargas‑Diagonal corridor (≈48,677 inhabitants) and the start of Guadalupe Victoria street rehabilitation in Santa María Xonacatepec (874 m, >10,900 residents) under #CallesAl100. On 30 July, Governor Armenta allocated 2.5 million pesos for ten community projects in San Salvador Huixcolotla, including school upgrades, sports‑facility rehab and a fourth gate at the Central de Abasto Regional Benito Juárez.
