Puebla animal welfare center construction hits 77% completion

The Animal Welfare Cell and Protection of Sentient Beings in Puebla, Mexico, is 77 percent complete. The project, promoted by honorary SEDIF president Ceci Arellano and SEDIF director Carlos Ochoa Rodríguez, is intended to become a model for all 216 municipalities in the state. It will house a crematory, therapy areas with horses, dogs and cats, laboratories, pathology, animal feed production, operating rooms for small to large species, a rehabilitation zone, 32 horse stalls, capacity for about 400 dogs and 300 cats, and facilities for other domestic animals. The complex includes accessible infrastructure, a forest‑surveillance area, and extensive external works. Secretary of Infrastructure José Manuel Contreras de los Santos reports the site spans 49,340 m² with 50,195 m² of construction and an investment of 290 million pesos. Completion is expected by mid‑September.
