Puebla authorities search for missing BUAP student Hugo Alejandro Hernández Tello
Authorities and the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla (BUAP) are continuing the search for Hugo Alejandro Hernández Tello, a 25-year-old student who has been missing since September 5. He was last seen leaving his home in the Ignacio Zaragoza neighborhood to play soccer.
Search operations have included patrols near the Alseseca River, where a backpack believed to belong to the student was recovered. Efforts have also expanded toward the Valsequillo area, involving various law enforcement agencies. The university's Directorate of Support and University Security (DASU) is actively assisting in the search efforts.
During a Sunday mass at the Puebla Cathedral, Archbishop Víctor Sánchez Espinosa called for prayers for the missing student and his family. The Archbishop also addressed the broader issues of violence and insecurity in Mexico, urging the community not to remain indifferent to the growing number of missing persons.
