Puebla Congress evaluates mandate revocation in Acatlán de Osorio
Marcos Castro Martínez, President of the Board of Directors of the Puebla Congress, stated that there is currently no formal proposal to establish a Municipal Council in Acatlán de Osorio. The legislature is currently analyzing a request from the Acatlán Cabildo to revoke the mandate of Mayor Guadalupe Lucero Bárcenas.
Before making a decision, the Congress requires comprehensive information regarding the municipality's situation. This includes the results of investigations by the State Auditor's Office (ASE) and the official stance of the local council members. Castro Martínez emphasized that maintaining governance and security in Acatlán de Osorio is a priority, given its status as a district head in Puebla. The final determination regarding a Municipal Council will depend on ASE investigation findings and ongoing negotiations between the mayor and the council members.
