Legislative initiatives address social welfare and public health in Argentina and Mexico
Various legislative and municipal initiatives have been introduced in Argentina and Mexico to address social and public health concerns.
In Balcarce, Argentina, Councilor Gabriel Petruccelli has requested information regarding the operation of the Food Support Program for Celiac Persons (PAAC). He also sought details from the Dr. Felipe A. Fossati Municipal Hospital concerning prevention and testing campaigns for sexually transmitted infections (STIs), including syphilis and HIV.
In Puebla, Mexico, Deputy Xel Arianna Hernández García proposed suspending driver's licenses for those registered as delinquent alimony debtors. The initiative also seeks to ensure alimony payments are deducted from a debtor's total income, including bonuses and commissions.
Additionally, Deputy Pável Gaspar Ramírez has introduced a reform to the State Constitution of Puebla to align local laws with federal standards. The proposal aims to recognize indigenous peoples as public law subjects with legal personality, autonomy, and the right to their own normative systems and traditional medicine.
