Puebla government invests in Mixteca infrastructure and agriculture

The Government of Puebla, led by Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, has announced significant investments in the Mixteca region, specifically around Izúcar de Matamoros. More than 10.4 million pesos have been allocated to 32 community work projects under the “Por Amor a Puebla” program. These projects include the construction of transport stops, streets, public lighting, pedestrian bridges, and school infrastructure.

In addition to community works, the state is boosting the agricultural sector. Investments include 290 strategic input supports and agricultural machinery totaling over 2.1 million pesos. The governor outlined a long-term strategy to increase agricultural equipment from 800 units in 2025 to 4,000 by 2030, with a budget projection reaching 2 billion pesos by 2027.

Furthermore, the state has completed the rehabilitation of 14.4 kilometers of the Izúcar-Los Limones highway. This 43.22 million peso project involved asphalt repair and the installation of 396 lights to improve safety for over 60,000 residents and tourists visiting the San Carlos area. Future plans include developing a tourist corridor and converting a local railway station into a museum.
