Puebla Governor and Motorcyclists to Review Helmet Law after Protest

Motorcyclist groups in Puebla staged protests against the state's helmet regulation, known as the Ley Casco, demanding its repeal or amendment. Representatives gathered at the Angelópolis Service Center, voicing concerns over safety requirements and the mandatory helmet‑attached devices.

Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier met with the protest leaders, Congress president Pavel Gaspar and other legislators. The parties agreed that the state government will issue a written response to the motorcyclists' proposals and that working tables will be established from 21 September 2026 to examine the mobility and road‑safety law. The delivery of the helmet‑attached devices will be temporarily suspended while the review proceeds.
