Puebla launches vehicle regularization program for 400,000 units

In Puebla, more than 400,000 vehicles are currently circulating with expired plates or outstanding debts. Out of a state registry of approximately 1.54 million private vehicles, officials identified significant irregularities, including many still using older blue plate designs.

The Secretariat of Planning, Finance, and Administration has launched the ‘Ponte al Día’ program to facilitate regularization. Available until November 30, 2026, the initiative offers discounts of up to 73% on vehicle debts, including taxes, fines, and surcharges. Additionally, certain processes such as plate exchanges, circulation card updates, and plate cancellations may qualify for up to 100% in benefits, depending on the taxpayer's specific circumstances.
