Puebla vehicle regularization program
Overview
The government of Puebla has implemented the ‘Ponte al Día’ initiative to address vehicle registration irregularities. Officials identified that out of approximately 1.54 million registered private vehicles in the state, more than 400,000 are circulating with expired license plates or outstanding debts.
The program, which runs through November 30, 2026, provides significant financial incentives for motorists to regularize their status. These include discounts of up to 73% on accumulated vehicle debts, such as taxes and surcharges, and up to 100% reductions on fees for specific procedures like plate exchanges, circulation card updates, and vehicle deregistration for units with plates from 2019 or earlier.
