Puebla launches vehicle regularization program with significant discounts
The government of Puebla has launched the ‘Ponte al Día’ initiative to assist citizens in regularizing vehicles with expired license plates or outstanding debts. The program offers discounts of up to 73% on accumulated vehicle debts and a 100% reduction in fees for procedures such as license plate exchanges, circulation cards, and vehicle deregistration for units with plates from 2019 or earlier.
State officials noted that out of 1,539,754 registered private vehicles in Puebla, 401,563 are currently circulating with expired plates or debts. The program also includes a 40% discount on photo-based traffic fines. To date, approximately 2,700 motorists have utilized the benefits through Integrated Service Centers and collection offices.
The initiative is active from September 1 and is scheduled to conclude on November 30. Residents can check their status and access services through the official government portal.
