Mayor Pepe Chedraui expands road rehab and youth anti‑corruption film contest in Puebla

Puebla Mayor Pepe Chedraui launched a short‑film competition for young people, "Por una Capital sin Corrupción," inviting 18‑ to 25‑year‑olds to submit two‑minute videos between 7 July and 14 August. The contest, supported by the municipal comptroller’s office, awards up to 20,000 pesos for the best entries and aims to promote transparency, citizen participation and a culture of denunciation.

At the same time, the municipal government continued its #CallesAl100 road‑rehabilitation programme. Using a newly acquired "Tren Capitalino de Pavimentación," works began on streets in the San Jerónimo Caleras auxiliary ward and the Ignacio Zaragoza ward, including the 5 May Avenue and several other thoroughfares. The projects will affect more than 38 000 residents across multiple neighbourhoods, adding new asphalt layers, lighting, sidewalks, tactile guides and bicycle lanes. The municipality reports that the interventions will improve safety, mobility and quality of life for Puebla’s families.

In Quecholac, the town council delivered a shade‑net to the "10 de Mayo" kindergarten, enhancing the school's infrastructure and protecting children during outdoor activities.
