Puebla to host National Mezcal Encounter 2026
Puebla is preparing to host the Encuentro Nacional del Mezcal Puebla 2026 from September 3 to 6 at the Puebla Convention Center. The event aims to strengthen the commercialization and international projection of the region's agave products.
The gathering will feature 300 mezcal brands and 50 exhibitors specializing in crafts, agroindustry, and gastronomy. The strategy, supported by Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier, seeks to integrate small producers into the entire value chain, from cultivation and nurseries to distillation, bottling, and branding.
Secretary of Agriculture and Rural Development Ana Laura Altamirano Pérez noted that mezcal represents over 400 years of tradition, particularly in regions like the Mixteca. The event will include commercial networking, workshops, the 2026 Origin Award, and a National Mixology Championship.
