Puebla Governor Alejandro Armenta expands state road‑paving initiative

Governor Alejandro Armenta Mier reported that Puebla’s infrastructure program will rehabilitate 28,000 streets, including 13,000 in the capital, and maintain over 4,500 km of state and inter‑municipal roads. The plan, backed by the federal government, uses 277 specialised machines and aims to benefit nearly 3 million residents by 2026. In a separate address, Armenta urged the 217 municipal presidents to fulfill their constitutional duties, emphasizing that local authorities must provide essential services such as street paving, water, drainage, lighting and waste collection, especially during the rainy season. He pledged continued state support for strategic works while stressing municipal responsibility for delivering public services.
