Puebla restores 19 historic buildings in city center

The Puebla City Government, through the Management of the Historic Center and Cultural Heritage, has completed the restoration of 19 historical buildings in the city's historic center. The project involved 16 civil architecture buildings dating from the 17th to the 20th centuries located on 8 Oriente Avenue, as well as three religious sites: the Santa Teresa de Ávila Conventual Temple, the Nuestra Señora de los Gozos Chapel, and the Temple of the Virgin of the Remedies.

Coordinated with the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), the intervention covered more than 12,000 square meters of heritage sites. The total investment exceeded 2.4 million pesos, with 950,000 pesos dedicated to the facades and 1.5 million pesos allocated to the religious buildings. The works included repainting, removing parasitic vegetation, and cleaning architectural details to improve the urban image and preserve the historical integrity of the area.
