Puebla State Congress advances 2027 budget proposals

The Budget and Public Credit Commission of the State Congress has approved several agreements to influence the 2027 fiscal year budget. One proposal urges municipalities, particularly the 50 designated under the Gender Violence Alert, to incorporate gender perspectives, including specific objectives and indicators, into their expenditure budgets.

Additional measures include a request for the Secretariat of Planning, Finance, and Administration to ensure linguistic accessibility by providing Mexican Sign Language interpreters and professional training within public administration.

Furthermore, legislative proposals have been submitted to prioritize public security in the 2027 budgets, aiming to improve police salaries, working conditions, and equipment. There are also calls to incorporate transversal programs for sexual and gender diversity to prevent and eradicate discrimination, as well as requests for the federal government to include specific annexes for these protections in the federal budget.
