Puebla State Congress legislative and budgetary initiatives

Overview

The Puebla State Congress has initiated several legislative and administrative efforts focused on modernization and budgetary planning.

Initially, the Technology, Innovation, and Sustainability Committee proposed upgrading the legislative voting system and the institution’s web portal. This initiative, led by Deputy Ana Laura Gómez Ramírez, aims to improve the registration and publication of legislative initiatives. Technical improvements include installing cabling for session tablets to reduce Wi-Fi reliance and enhancing data management to better organize information by deputy or legislative group.

Subsequently, the Budget and Public Credit Commission moved to influence the 2027 fiscal year budget. Key proposals include requiring municipalities under Gender Violence Alerts to incorporate gender perspectives into their spending. Other budgetary priorities involve improving public security through better police salaries and equipment, ensuring linguistic accessibility via Mexican Sign Language interpreters, and implementing programs to prevent discrimination against sexual and gender diversity.
