San Luis Potosí and Puebla report major economic and tourism developments

San Luis Potosí is experiencing significant economic and tourism growth. Between October 2021 and September 2026, the state secured $10 billion in national and foreign private investment. Key global companies such as BMW Group, General Motors, and L’Oréal are active in the region. Economic indicators show the state ranked sixth nationally in economic growth for 2025, with exports increasing by 94.4 percent between 2021 and 2025. The tourism sector has also expanded, with a 22 percent increase in passengers at Ponciano Arriaga International Airport in 2026 and new international hotel infrastructure like the Tru by Hilton in Ciudad Valles.

Meanwhile, Puebla is preparing to host the 51st edition of Tianguis Turístico from March 9 to 12, 2027. The event is expected to be the largest in the meeting's history, featuring over 35,000 square meters of exhibition space and participation from 45 countries. The state government is implementing modernization strategies, including urban beautification, infrastructure improvements, and enhanced security measures, such as aerial and ground surveillance, to accommodate the expected 8,000 attendees and 3,500 buyers. The event is projected to generate over 1.38 billion pesos in economic impact for the region.
