Overview

Mexican states San Luis Potosí and Puebla are implementing strategic initiatives to bolster their tourism and economic sectors.

In San Luis Potosí, the state has seen significant economic expansion, securing $10 billion in national and foreign private investment between October 2021 and September 2026. Major global companies, including BMW Group, General Motors, and L’Oréal, are active in the region. Economic indicators show the state ranked sixth nationally in economic growth for 2025, with exports increasing by 94.4 percent between 2021 and 2025. The tourism sector continues to grow, supported by a 22 percent increase in passengers at the Ponciano Arriaga International Airport and new infrastructure such as the Tru by Hilton in Ciudad Valles.

Puebla is preparing to host the 51st edition of Tianguis Turístico from March 9 to 12, 2027. Expected to be the largest in the event’s history, the convention will feature over 35,000 square meters of exhibition space. The event is expected to attract over 8,000 attendees and 3,500 buyers from 45 countries, with an estimated economic impact exceeding 1.38 billion pesos.
