Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Walpurgisnacht Rising hits Japanese box office

The anime film ‘Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie: Walpurgisnacht: Rising’ has achieved significant box office success in Japan following its release on August 28. A new trailer and visual art by Ume Aoki were recently revealed during the Aniplex One Focus livestream, further building anticipation for the sequel that arrives 13 years after the previous installment.

New details include the addition of voice actress Maaya Sakamoto, who portrays the mysterious character Wasu. While the film has seen high demand and sold out many screenings, the intense popularity has led to practical issues in theaters. Due to high attendance and seasonal heat, some viewers reported uncomfortable conditions in crowded cinemas, with some fans noting that ventilation issues and heavy crowds impacted the viewing experience.
