Puerto Flamenco to perform ‘PURO’ spectacle in Bosnia and Herzegovina

The Seville-based ensemble Puerto Flamenco is touring Bosnia and Herzegovina this week with their spectacle ‘PURO’ as part of the Dansar Dance and Art Festival. The performances are scheduled for Mostar on September 17 at the Hrvatski dom Herceg Stjepan Kosača, Sarajevo on September 19 at the Bosnian Cultural Center (BKC), and Tuzla on September 20 at the BKC.

The show aims to convey the raw energy of traditional flamenco found in Sevillian venues, utilizing improvisation to connect musicians and dancers. Co-founder and percussionist Andrej Vujičić noted that the performance relies on high technical skill and complex rhythms to allow for spontaneous, unrepeatable moments on stage.

In addition to the main performances, dancer and co-founder Francesca ‘La Chica’ Grima will lead a masterclass in Sarajevo on September 18. The ensemble, founded in 2004, combines traditional flamenco with contemporary stage approaches.
