Puerto Rican musical groups release new projects following Bad Bunny collaborations

Puerto Rican musical groups Los Pleneros de la Cresta and Chuwi are releasing new works following their participation in Bad Bunny’s recent world tour and musical projects.

Los Pleneros de la Cresta has released a new album titled ‘Puerto Rico abraza al mundo’. The project aims to provide visibility to Puerto Rican plena by blending it with rhythms and instruments from various countries visited during Bad Bunny’s tour, including Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Mexico, and Peru. The group uses traditional plena instruments such as the requinto, punteador, seguidor, and güiro to reinterpret well-known songs like ‘De música ligera’ and ‘Cielito Lindo’.

Meanwhile, the band Chuwi has released their debut LP titled ‘Libertad’. The album’s title and cover art reference the 1937 Ponce Massacre, a historical event in Puerto Rico. Chuwi gained significant international attention after collaborating with Bad Bunny on the song ‘Weltita’ from his 2025 album ‘Debí Tirar Más Fotos’, which helped increase their monthly streams to 6 million.
