Puerto Vallarta and Bogotá launch free July pet sterilization drives

The municipal government of Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, announced the July itinerary for its Mobile Veterinary Unit, which will provide free sterilizations, rabies vaccinations, and general exams for dogs and cats at specific neighborhoods and rural areas. Services will be offered on July 6 in Palmar del Progreso, July 10 near UNIVA, July 13 in El Colorado, July 17 in Ojo de Agua, July 20 and 24 in Los Tamarindos (Ixtapa), and July 28 in Llanitos, with a fixed weekly clinic at the Pitillal Animal Welfare Park.

Bogotá, Colombia’s District Institute for Animal Protection and Welfare (IDPYBA) opened 10,500 free sterilization slots for dogs and cats throughout July 2026. Mobile units will visit more than a dozen localities, including Ciudad Bolívar, Kennedy, Suba, and Usaquén, while permanent sites operate at the Unidad de Cuidado Animal in Engativá and the Veterinary Faculty of the National University. The program targets low‑income households and street animals, aiming to curb overpopulation and improve animal health.
