Puglia Balloon Cup 2026 begins in Gravina in Puglia

The Puglia Balloon Cup 2026 has commenced in Gravina in Puglia, marking the first international hot air balloon competition in Southern Italy. Running until August 29, the event features 15 balloons from various European countries competing in the skies of Alta Murgia.

The competition includes official tests of precision and navigation, requiring high levels of technical skill, strategy, and the ability to interpret flight conditions. The event follows the regulations of the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale (FAI) and the Aero Club d’Italia.

Supported by the Puglia Region Sport Department as part of the Great Sporting Events program, the competition is promoted by the Consorzio Landing on South Italy – Mongolfiere al Sud Italia and organized by the Aero Club ‘Nido delle Aquile’ of Ceraso. The opening ceremony took place at the Vivaio Digitale Macnil in Gravina, welcoming international delegations for the six-day sporting event.
