Puglia Region partners with Apulia Film Commission to promote food heritage

The Puglia Regional Government has approved a memorandum of understanding between the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and the Apulia Film Commission. The agreement aims to implement integrated initiatives for the cultural valorization and promotion of Puglia’s agroalimentary heritage.

The program intends to use cinema and audiovisual media as primary drivers to increase awareness and development of the region's excellence in food and agriculture. Under the agreement, the Apulia Film Commission will manage organizational coordination for film festivals, institutional logistics, and communication activities. The Regional Department of Agriculture will be responsible for the design and execution of agroalimentary nutrition activities and guided tasting services for typical products during these events.

The partnership does not involve direct financial transfers between the administrations; instead, each party remains responsible for its own procedural requirements and expenditures. A technical committee composed of representatives from both the Regional Agriculture Department and the Apulia Film Commission will be established to oversee the one-year renewable agreement.
