Puglia audiovisual and agroalimentary promotion

The Puglia region is actively promoting its audiovisual industry and cultural heritage through international presence and strategic partnerships. At the 83rd Venice International Film Festival, the Apulia Film Commission and the Puglia Region presented supported productions and introduced the Apulia Film Fund 2026, which allocates 5 million euros to regional audiovisual development. This effort is complemented by the Apulia Web Fest, an event focused on independent international cinema and emerging talent.

Expanding on these efforts, the Puglia Regional Government approved a memorandum of understanding between the Apulia Film Commission and the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment. This partnership aims to use cinema and audiovisual media to promote the region’s agroalimentary heritage. While the Film Commission manages logistics and communication for festivals, the Department of Agriculture will oversee nutrition activities and tasting services for typical products. The agreement is overseen by a technical committee and does not involve direct financial transfers between the two administrations.
