Puglia Region signs agreement for Expo 2027 Belgrade participation

The Puglia Region has signed an agreement to participate in Expo 2027 Belgrade, scheduled to take place in Serbia from May 15 to August 15, 2027. The agreement was signed by Luca Gori, the Italian Ambassador to Serbia and Commissioner of the Italy Pavilion, and Eugenio Di Sciascio, Puglia’s Regional Assessor for Economic Development and Labor.

Under the agreement, Puglia will have a customized exhibition space within the Italy Pavilion from May 23 to May 25, 2027. The region will host dedicated regional days to promote its territory, cultural excellence, and economic collaboration opportunities. The event, themed ‘Playing for Humanity: Sport and Music for All’, expects participation from approximately 140 countries.

This participation follows a framework agreement signed in Rome to ensure coordinated involvement of Italian territories. Regional officials noted that the Balkan region is a strategic economic partner, with Puglia’s exports to these territories approaching one billion euros in the first half of 2026, representing a 30 percent increase compared to the previous year.
