Puglia to host XI Trofeo CONI for the first time
The Puglia region will host the XI edition of the Trofeo CONI for the first time from October 4 to 7. The event is expected to bring over 4,500 athletes and technicians to the region, utilizing 16 facilities across the provinces of Bari, Brindisi, Lecce, and Taranto.
Supported by the Puglia Regional Sports Department with a 600,000 euro investment, the competition includes 45 sports disciplines and 21 regional representatives. International delegations from Australia, Brazil, Venezuela, the United States, and Switzerland are also scheduled to participate. A notable addition for the 2026 edition will be the inclusion of Paralympic athletes.
Regional Sports Assessor Cristian Casili stated that the event serves as an investment in youth and the region's future, acting as an educational and social tool. The initiative is also part of a broader strategy to promote Puglia as a year-round destination and support the 'Puglia Regione Europea dello Sport 2026' program.
