In 2025 Italian municipalities in the Campania region recorded more than €8.5 million in fines collected for exceeding speed limits, according to an analysis of public accounts published by Facile.it. The revenue was generated by fixed and mobile speed cameras, tutor systems and other speed‑control devices.
The municipality of Puglianello (province of Benevento) led the ranking with €1.142 million, followed by Atripalda (Avellino) with €1.010 million and Sessa Aurunca (Caserta) with €853 thousand. The remaining spots in the top‑ten included Torrecuso, Gragnano, Marcianise, Fragneto Monforte, Paupisi, Cellole and Ceppaloni, with revenues ranging from €828 thousand down to €315 thousand.
The analysis also highlighted that speed‑related incidents account for about 28‑29 % of road injuries during the summer months, reinforcing the importance of traffic‑speed controls for public safety in the region.
