Pulsar reveals dual-sensor gaming mouse concept
Gaming hardware manufacturer Pulsar has teased a new mouse platform featuring a dual-sensor system designed to shift the virtual tracking point via software. Revealed through a YouTube mini-documentary, the technology, referred to as OmniFusion, combines data from two optical sensors to allow users to set a customized offset.
This approach aims to address the diminishing returns of increasing DPI and polling rates by focusing on sensor placement. The system includes an AI called IntentEngine, which is intended to automatically adjust the sensor position based on a player's hand movements. By utilizing two sensors, the virtual sampling point could theoretically be positioned even outside the physical mouse housing.
Research cited by the company, including a 2020 study by Sunjun Kim and Byungjoo Lee, suggests that sensor position significantly impacts movement accuracy and speed. While a centered position is often a general compromise, individual optimal positions vary between users.
Pulsar has not yet confirmed the specific product name, weight, price, or official release date.
