Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann adds 355 merit‑based government jobs
On 8 June 2026, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann handed appointment letters to 355 youth, raising the total number of government jobs created since his administration took office to 67,037. Mann said all positions were filled solely on the basis of merit, transparency and fair competition, noting that Punjab has recorded no exam paper leaks since 2022, in contrast to 93 leaks reported across India since 2017.
He linked the recruitment drive to broader youth‑empowerment efforts, citing the start of reverse migration, a pathway to regularise 65,000 contractual employees, and investments in skill development such as 25 new Industrial Training Institutes and upgrades to 13 existing ones. Mann also highlighted improvements in the state’s education sector, including the establishment of 118 Schools of Eminence and advanced training for teachers and principals.
