Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann denounces fake video and announces 68,268 new government jobs

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann said political opponents fabricated a viral video to tarnish his image, alleging the clip does not match his appearance. He claimed forensic labs examined the video and called the attack a low‑level political conspiracy, warning that opponents are using religious rhetoric to spread falsehoods.

Mann also highlighted the state’s employment record, stating that 68,268 government positions have been created in the past four and a half years through a transparent, merit‑based recruitment process. He noted that many Punjabi youths abroad are returning for these jobs and that the administration has ended patronage‑based appointments. The chief minister emphasized continued focus on basic services such as electricity, water, roads, hospitals and employment opportunities.
