Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann reviews health scheme and women's cash assistance program

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann reviewed the progress of the Mukh Mantri Sehat Yojna, a cashless health scheme that has issued 47.27 lakh health cards covering 23.01 lakh families. So far, 3.79 lakh patients have received treatment worth ₹654 crore across 835 empanelled hospitals (223 government and 612 private). The scheme provides up to ₹10 lakh per family and is being enhanced with a WhatsApp‑based card download service and a forthcoming mobile app.

Mann also announced the rollout of the Mukh Mantri Mawan Dheeyan Satkar Yojna, a women's financial assistance programme starting 1 July. Eligible women will receive ₹1,000 per month, with Scheduled Caste women getting ₹1,500, directly transferred to bank accounts. The state has allocated ₹9,300 crore for the scheme, expecting 97 % of Punjab's women to benefit, and registration is underway through Anganwadi centres, Sewa Kendras and Mahila Satkar Sakhis.
