Punjab CM Bhagwant Singh Mann reviews Mukhyamantri Swasthya Yojana, cites benefits for millions

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann chaired a review of the Mukhyamantri Swasthya Yojana, describing it as a "boon" for the state. He noted that 3.79 million patients have already received cash‑free treatment worth 654 crore rupees under the scheme.

The programme has issued 47.27 lakh health cards covering 23.01 lakh families, with 48.5 % male and 51.5 % female card‑holders; 31 % of cards were issued in urban areas and 69 % in rural areas. A network of 835 hospitals—including 223 government and 612 private facilities—provides services, and each family is entitled to up to 10 lakh rupees of cash‑less care.

To improve accessibility, the government launched a WhatsApp‑based help line, a dedicated website for e‑card downloads, and is finalising a mobile‑app registration system.
