Punjab CM reviews Asian Champions Trophy hockey preparations

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann inspected the state's readiness to host the Asian Champions Trophy hockey tournament, ordering that all infrastructure and organisational work be completed well before September. He directed the formation of a high‑powered committee to monitor upgrades at the Jalandhar and Mohali stadiums and called for world‑class facilities to ensure a successful event.

Earlier in May, Mann inaugurated a new astroturf at the Sant Avtar Singh memorial hockey stadium, highlighting the state government's push to improve sports infrastructure alongside irrigation and groundwater projects. He stressed that these developments aim to inspire youth and promote communal harmony in Punjab.
