Punjab election moved to November 2026, AAP backs Bhagwant Mann as CM candidate

Arvind Kejriwal, national coordinator of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), announced that Punjab’s assembly election could be held in November 2026 instead of the scheduled February 2027. He said the party has only four months to prepare and reiterated its intention to return Bhagwant Mann to the chief‑minister’s office.

Kejriwal highlighted AAP’s recent success in local‑body polls, winning mayoral posts in four municipalities and securing victories in nearly half of the 1,977 ward seats contested. He praised the state government’s work on agriculture, schools, hospitals and water supply, and criticised opposition parties for alleged collusion against the AAP administration.
