Punjab government clarifies Maryam Nawaz security remarks

Information Minister Azma Bukhari defended the Chief Minister, stating that her comments regarding terrorism were taken out of context and misinterpreted by critics. Bukhari clarified that the remarks focused on internal dynamics and the movement of militant elements across provincial boundaries rather than external threats from neighboring countries.

The minister addressed the political backlash, alleging that critics were using the ‘India Card’ to distort the Chief Minister’s message and create unnecessary social media chaos. Bukhari emphasized that the provincial government is focused on strengthening counter-terrorism efforts and managing law and order within its jurisdiction, while expressing confidence in national defense institutions to protect the country’s borders.
