Punjab Government releases funds under Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana

The Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, is releasing honorarium payments to newly registered women under the ‘Mawan-Dhiyan Satkar Yojana’ in celebration of Raksha Bandhan.

According to government data, 7.605 million women have registered for the scheme so far. To date, 2,274.42 crore rupees have been transferred to the bank accounts of 6.562 million women. Under this initiative, women over the age of 18 from the general category receive 1,000 rupees per month, while women from Scheduled Castes receive 1,500 rupees per month.

The state has allocated 9,300 crore rupees in the budget for this scheme, with the government expecting approximately 97 percent of Punjab's women to benefit. Chief Minister Mann emphasized that financial empowerment is essential for gender equality and social-economic participation.

Additionally, the Chief Minister highlighted the state's health scheme, which provides cashless medical treatment up to 10 lakh rupees per family. The government reports that over 1,044 crore rupees has been utilized for free medical treatments under this program.
