Punjab mandates new security app for all schools

The Punjab School Education Department has mandated that all public and private educational institutions across the province implement the Educational Institutions Security Status (EISS) mobile application and web portal. This directive, issued by the Directorate General of Monitoring and Evaluation, requires District Education Authority CEOs to ensure all school heads comply with the new system.

Developed by the Punjab Information Technology Board (PITB) under instructions from the Punjab Home Department, the EISS platform serves as a centralized digital repository for security-related information. The system is designed to allow school administrations to log in and submit data regarding their security arrangements and other mandatory parameters.

The initiative is part of a five-tier monitoring mechanism. At the first level, schools will perform self-assessments of their security measures via the platform. This centralized approach aims to facilitate real-time monitoring of security compliance, strengthen administrative oversight, and provide data for evidence-based policymaking to enhance the safety of educational institutions.
