Punjab Police seize 27 kg of heroin and pistol in Amritsar smuggling bust

The Punjab Police Counter Intelligence wing in Amritsar has dismantled a cross-border smuggling module, resulting in the arrest of four individuals. During the operation, authorities seized 27 kg of heroin, a foreign-made .30 bore PX5 pistol, and three cartridges.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused were operating under the direction of a Dubai-based operative in coordination with cross-border smugglers. The group was allegedly responsible for supplying contraband based on instructions from this foreign contact.

A First Information Report (FIR) has been registered at the State Special Operation Cell (SSOC) police station in Amritsar. Law enforcement officials are currently conducting further investigations to identify all participants in the network and establish the full extent of its backward and forward linkages.
