Punjab to Host Asian Hockey Champions Trophy in October, CM Mann Pledges Full Support
Punjab will host the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy for the first time in October 2026, featuring the top six men's teams from the Asian Games. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann said the state will provide full backing to Hockey India, guaranteeing world‑class arrangements, foolproof security and all necessary facilities for players and officials.
Matches are slated for the Balbir Singh Sr. Hockey Stadium in Mohali and the Surjit Hockey Stadium in Jalandhar. Mann also announced a four‑nation invitational tournament approved for the state, aiming to boost youth participation and revive Punjab’s historic role as a cradle of Indian hockey.
